Around this time of year, university students filming their final year projects tend to advertise for actors. I love sci-fi, so when this one came up I auditioned and got the part.
Hannah Smith’s passion project Rogue concerns an eccentric scientific genius/madman called Jonathan Quinn (me) who lives in a shack in the woods. One day, a rogue planet passes close enough to the Earth to drastically affect our weather conditions and puts the human race in jeopardy. Quinn, however, is convinced his invention can correct the damage and save the planet!
The shoot was over two days with a very professional and enthusiastic cast and crew, taking place in York and Lincoln. Throughout, I was well looked after and treated with respect, which when you’re working unpaid as an actor is the least you should expect.
It’s a great script and I’m sure Hannah is going to make a great job of it. I can’t wait to see the final piece in a few months!
