The Moors

Directing and acting in this dark twisted Bronte parody

Once again working with the wonderful Penny Magpie Theatre Company, I’m directing this strange and compelling play by American playwright Jen Silverman.

Two sisters, a maid and their dog live a bleak life on the moors, until the arrival of a young governess. But all is not as it seems, and before the evening is over there will be pregnancy, murder, a power ballad and a romantic relationship between a mastiff and a moorhen.

Running between 6th and 8th November 2025 at The Mansion House, tickets are available from York Theatre Royal here.
