A piece of new writing by York actor and writer Victoria Delaney, this full length play needed unsettling atmospheres and musical refrains.
Produced by Off The Rock productions at York’s John Cooper Studio theatre, this brand new, original production played to sold-out houses for its four night run.
The story revolves around the titular Mad Alice, a character from York folklore, mistreated by her husband who subsequently dies – leaving her accused of witchcraft. But was she guilty, or just misunderstood?
As the composer I was charged with delivering a sonic component to Mad Alice’s descent into despair, and produced evolving ambient soundscapes that intertwined with the main character’s mood and growing panic.
It’s always a pleasure to work with Off The Rock, especially on such a good script with the strong performances it produced.
