Another first – adapting a comic book without dialogue into a screenplay. How hard could it be?
I’d worked with director Will Hill previously when I adapted Ray Clark’s Implant novel into a short film trailer. This time, the challenge was different – Chaboute’s wonderful monochromatic graphic novel The Park Bench was to be turned into a short film and Will wanted me to do the treatment.
It was hard to choose the most fitting narrative strands from the lengthy book to get the tone and feel of the work across in a different medium, but I’m confident I managed it and the director and producers were happy with my finished product.
The film is currently in post-production and I’ll post a link to it when it becomes publicly available.
