Over the course of summer 2017 I made a concerted effort to ‘put myself out there’ and auditioned for quite a few short and student films.
In Concrete, directed by Andrew Adams, I played a senior partner in a rail-building company, who had to give some hard truths to an elderly gentleman who was due to be rehomed as a result of my company’s plans.
In The Stragglers: A Yorkshire Musical (Black Beetle Films) I played a pub landlord, opening the film by putting my singing skills to good use. Then dying of a heart attack.
in Pulse (Liberation Productions) I was a grief-stricken dad, whose daughter sadly perished in the Pulse nightclub shootings.
Each was just a single day shoot, but I made a lot of good connections and worked with some really excellent performers. The plan is to put together a showreel by the end of 2017 to equip myself to win further acting work next year.
