The Roses of Whitechapel

Playing Jack the Ripper in this fascinating theatre production

I was thrilled to get the part of Jack the Ripper in Penny Magpie’s production of The Roses of Whitechapel at York’s Theatre 41. Written by Jonathan Kaufman and Martin Stiff, it’s quite unique in its premise in that it tells the story from the point of view of the victims, rather than the mysterious killer, it’s a powerful and visceral piece of theatre.

The run was sold-out and received very favourable reviews. Furthermore, I enjoyed sporting a huge (and real!) moustache for a few weeks.
