It’s always a pleasure to work with Off The Rock Productions, and it was great to be invited to undertake the sound design for their latest piece of new writing.
The stage writing debut of Victoria Delaney (a fantastic actor I’ve had the pleasure of working with previously on The Maids), this one-act comedy was brilliantly directed by Alison Young (who I worked with on The Damask Room) who also starred.
From a sound point of view, my job was to write a piece to accompany the restaurant scenes – smooth, jazzy and wallpapery, and a piece to accompany the kitchen scenes – tinny, dancey and fast. The fun came from syncing the lighting changes between the two halves of the stage with the contrast in music styles.
A really excellent production, and as always a tremendously talented cast and crew.
